G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra took the bronze crown at the box office this weekend, raising its domestic take to $120,531,000 and its worldwide haul to a staggering $222,651,953. To put that into perspective, it’s almost half of what I made last year as a high-powered Hollywood assistant. Half! True, I took home closer to five figures after taxes. But given that all those hard-earned tax dollars are undoubtedly going toward the development of Accelerator Suits, Night Ravens and more liquid armor for Scarlett…I can’t complain. As always, Stephen sends out a huge thanks to everyone who’s seen the movie in theaters. With a few more weekends like this, we should be hearing more about G.I. Joe 2 sooner rather than later…
That’s so awesome to hear! I’m glad it’s been doing well and am looking forward to a sequel. And with Stephen most-definitely likely to return (despite news reports saying he’s currently not signed), we can rest assured the sequel will stay focused and not become overblown and exceedingly-overlong like a certain other sequel this summer based on another popular toyline.
