Even though the evil forces of Cobra don’t rise until the very end of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra – which is hardly consider a spoiler because…c’mon…it’s right there in the title – that doesn’t mean that you can’t catch a few glimpses of the terrorist organization’s logo throughout the film. While some are subtle hints designed to show how Cobra Commander’s fearsome trademark took shape, others were added as Easter eggs for fans. After all – how can you make a G.I. Joe movie without including the enemy’s iconic symbol? So without further adieu, here’s a complete list of all the places you’ll see the Cobra logo hidden in the film. Just remember to bookmark this article for the DVD release – you’ll definitely need to freeze frame in order to catch all of them…
Stay tuned for a post on all the movie’s G.I. Joe-related Easter eggs!
Will be look for those at midnight tonight!
Just got back from the the theater, it was really fun. Congrats Stephen on your most fun movie yet. Hopefully it makes bank, as it should, so we can see Snake Eyes and the team back on screen.
Mr. Sommers,
I absolutely loved the movie! The action and special effects were great! I cant wait for the sequel. Thank you for making my favorite film of the year.
Just got back from seeing the movie Stephen and all I got to say is Yo Joe! that movie was your best yet. I look forward to GI Joe 2: A Real American Hero (just my thought on the title plus it would be cool to hear the theme song too). I have one downside it would be nice to leave out the flashbacks but don’t get me wrong I loved the snake eyes ones and how cobra commander met Dr. Mindbender. I have one question who were the Joes or Cobras that were featured that were snuck into the movie cause I missed them but would love to know where to catch them at in the film.
Thank you, Mr. Sommers! I’ve been a GI Joe fan since my dad brought home the first issue of the Marvel comic for me when I was 11, and I’m thrilled to see my favorite toys playing on the big screen. I hope in the (inevitable!!!!) sequel that we see a return of Storm Shadow, and hopefully we get his revelation that he didn’t kill the master, which was in the novelization but unfortunately not in the film itself. Will there be a director’s cut of the DVD? Thanks again from a very happy 38 year old boy. Yo Joe! Good luck with Tarzan!
PS– I should say an extended cut, since I wouldn’t know if this is your final cut or not, my apologies for assuming that it wasn’t.
David – While you saw Stephen’s final cut in the theater, there are a few deleted scenes…updates to come on whether or not you’ll see any of them on the DVD!
I think it would be great if the DVD had an Easter Egg with Dennis Quaid as General Hawk doing a PSA just like the cartoon. I loved when he said “…and knowing is half the battle.”
